27th AGM Gallery

27th Annual General Meeting of the Institute of Sri Lankan Photographers was ceremonially held at Lions Activity Center, Vidya Mawatha, Colombo 07 on 30th October 2021, in low key, with a limited participation under Covid19 health guidelines. The Institute provided facility for members those who were not present to join the meeting online via Zoom platform.

Mr. Suresh Herath of Metropolitan Photo Hub, Mr.Prasanna Hennayake – Chairman of State Advisory Board for Photography and Mr. Athula Mahawalage were present as special invitees.

During the Ceremonial Session Institute’s Honourary Fellowships were presented to Dr. B. Karunaratne LISLP and Mr. Bandu Gunaratne FISLP on recognition of their services rendered to the field of Photography in Sri Lanka, for which the citations were were read at the meeting. Handing over of the certificates were done by the new President Mr. Varuna Kariyakarawana and the Immediate Past President Mr. Denzil Fernando. As a special event, former Secretary Mr.Bandu Gunaratne’s completion of 50 years in Photography was celebrated by cutting a cake structure made to the shape of a Rollieflex medium format camera. A memento of the ISLP to mark Mr. Gunaratne’s 50 years in Photography was presented to him by Mr.Henry Rajakaruna and Mr. Chandrasena Perera.

The Immediate Past President Mr. Denzil Fernando presented a power point show depicting the activities planned and offered to the membership amidst difficulties prevailed in the country. The newly appointed Secretary Mr. Mithra Weerakone gave away the Vote of Thanks.
